Missed a renewal !

i'm kicking myself

i'm sooo pissed off with myself i can't believe it, i missed a domain name renewal and i regard myself as being "systematic" on these things.

bugger, no big deal.... it wasn't creditcards.com but the domain i really wanted to do something with and its been parked 10 years but i just liked it, you know how you get fond of a domain name well this one was it.

the reason it happened was basically i was sooooo busy atthe time and it was a .com so that makes it worse but i was changing servers and yadda yadda etc

well bugger, now someone in china owns it ! and has put up a for sale sign on it and the worst thing is its a VERY chinesse term i had found out since i purchased it in 2000.

oh well bugger

i just thougth i'd post this as it may prompt others to check they have a good system.

i lost this domain in oct/2011 and only found out today may/2012, it is soooo unlike me thats why i am p&%*& off with myself

can't tell you the domain as i still own the .com.au

no , they haven't developed it they have just stuck a for sale sign on it

I had a kinda similar thing this morning...

I have a bunch of not-worth-developing domains that have been parked at Sedo for years. I checked my Sedo stats this morning for the first time in at least a year, and noticed that the domain "lost-super.com" had been doing okay and was my top earner for the last 12 months.

I went to the site to what it looked like, and it came up with an error. I checked the whois and I no longer owned the domain! Looking back, I found that I deliberately let it drop back in December last year.

So anyway the whois result was blank, so I went straight to godaddy and re-registered the domain. Phew!

The moral of my story is to check the stats before letter a domain drop!
