Very good metrics on this one:

5,400 Exacts, 40,000 Broad CPC $1.50

although may be people looking fror an offline cure/treatment.

My guess $3,500. Come on people stick a number on it!

at first i thought $4k + but its got activity so ? so i think it could push $10k and as always it depends on who is behind the bidding.

Better question is, 'what would you pay'?

if i was in charge of this company and i had a product like "nicorette but for migraines" then i would pay whatever i needed to, just put in a proxy of 100K and deal with it later.

i'm serious, what you could do with that domain is GOLD. IFFFFF you are the end user.

someone posted recently about the price people pay for domains but then pay HEAPS more on BS advertising, they are tuned to pay for advertising but don't realise how much benefit you get from a GREAT domain.

What would you pay in these scenarios?

1. You're a domainer, you like the sound of the name but don't have a clue what to do with it, you think someone might eventually buy it off you & you are sure it will make bare minimum $1.50 in parking earnings per year. What would you pay?

2. You're a billionaire. You travel around in private jets. You go to the casino on Saturday's and make $1million bets on each spin of the roulette wheel. You even once tipped the pizza delivery guy $100k just for a laugh....but you don't have a clue about this name, in fact you barely know what a domain is and if someone told you about this auction you'd fall asleep. What would you pay?

3. You've the CEO multi national company selling Migrane cures. It just so happens you make a product called "Nicorette for Migranes". Your IT guy tells you about this auction, in the same meeting he tells you he know a guaranteed investment in horse waste recycling that the company should get into (its his brothers company). You bring it up at the board meeting, & tell them you're planning on putting down a 100k proxy and dealing with it later. The board remembers something like this happened once before, it was migraineS.com.au, you put down the 100k proxy and it ended at $500, since that time the name has served as a most excellent dust collector.

All the board has a good chuckle, the chairman even suggests the shareholders will have your tie for corporate waste if they heard about that and you better forget about the idea, what would you pay?

once again you miss my point!

1. of course, but domainers don't do that

2. of course, but billionaires are just billionaires so let it go.

3. i wasn't suggest you pay 100K, just that you make sure you get the domain but even if it cost you 100k its worth if you are the end user.

you can't value a domain on someone elses BS attempt at moneterising a domain eg you example: migraineS.com.au

there was a post today about posse.com , snoopy would you pay $991 for it? as migraines is right now on NF? i think the answer is NO, well she paid $28k

find the thread, read the article and PLEASE do not come back and say "but its a .com not a .com.au " read between the lines, its about taking a domain and DOING something with it.

Why would the name be worth 100k to an enduser and why would an enduser ever dream of paying that price? This name is most likely to be bought by a domainer, that is how it is going to be valued.

The point of this is you are talking about unrealistic circumstances. There is no enduser with a 100k blank cheque. A more realistic approach is 10 guys in their underwear wondering what it could make with a minisite. If an enduser misses it, it is not a big deal, most likely the opportunity cost would be $0 because they'd likely do nothing with it anyway.

I don't know about the other 9, but I could make a FORTUNE from it.

finally someone who can see the value in a migraine which we now all have over this discussion LOL.

stupidly weddingcaketoppers dot com au was bidded to $508 of NF and $309 on drop, drop won, a fair bit of difference for the potential end use.

i don't know what the proxy bid was on drop but i was the $309 that lost, given a cake top costs @ $200- $350 some END USER got themselves a bargain but the whois suggests not an enduser?
