I think most people associate company names with domains, rather than generic terms. For a business called Masters, it's hard to beat Masters.com.au. Why dilute the brand or cause confusion with a generic term?

in the UK we've had two classic bad domain choices.
B&Q had to go with DIY.com
British Gas 'used' to use House.co.uk

I'm more interested to know why they're using masters.com.au after acquiring hardware.com.au?

1. Because Masters is their brand
2. Because they probably don't give a toss about hardware.com.au other than making sure nobody else owns it.

I wonder if Woolworths will let masters.com.au and hardware.com.au drop now?

Don't bother trying to backorder them via Netfleet. Already tried... :p

I'll pass on Masters.com.au, but would happily take a shot at Hardware.com.au ;)

It seems unlikely that these would drop (managed through CSC) ...but you never know what will happen! Case in point, just recently a big corporate dropped a few absolute belters (and I was lucky enough to snag one of them! :) )
