Increase in US traffic to .au domains

Recently I've had a significant increase in traffic coming to my .com.au domains from the US, and a lesser, but still noticeable increase from Canada. Normally when I get spikes in traffic, it is spam bots from Brazil. Is this just more bot traffic with a different place of origin or could there be another explanation? Any clues? Thanks.

if the site is a .com.au i'd be careful you don't have a database injection.
is it a specific page?
OR, is it parked? and whats the click through ratio, dead or improved?
just some things to think about as your question really needs more investigation.
i've had it happen and it turns out to be a hot linked image !

Thanks Tim. All of the domains are parked and there has been no increase in click throughs coming for the US traffic.
