ICANN Phone or Address Verification

Some info about ICANN and upcoming changes to the verification process...

Things are about to change though, after a new ICANN agreement, which makes it mandatory for domain registrars to verify phone or address of their customers within 15 days of them buying a domain. Registrations will have to be suspended if such verification has not been provided within the given time-frame.

They've updated the article to "verify phone or email address". I can't imagine how they will be able to enforce this or perhaps it won't apply retroactively or until a domain comes up for renewal.

Let's assume worst case scenario for shits and giggles - easy to circumvent with a prepaid mobile, photoshopped ID and pay for domain with bitcoin via Namecheap.
