What's new

Hello all

Following protocol for once, I'm here to do my introduction.

My partner has been a domainer for many years and a couple of years ago he let me loose in his catch system. I'd just given him a son so I guess I'd earned his trust lol

It's much harder by all accounts in Australia but here in the UK it's not so bad. I may know or had dealings with a few members here as I recall a few domainers being Australian. Best domainer i know is from NZ. Think he dominates over there looking at his names.

I don't know yet but from the dealings I have had domainers over there are more professional and business minded whereas although we have the same type of lovely people in the UK we also have a lot of pretenders.

Domain wise we also sell UK drop lists and the catch script to anyone with nominet membership and hire it out for £89 a month hosted at a location with great latency to nominets servers.

My partner is always wanting to move to Australia so as the forums over here are a bit quiet I thought I would have a look here.

The posts here look pretty familiar so looking forward to having a good read.

As for the domains I've caught on my own I've done really well. As a mother of 4 i should have saw the long game and held on to some domains but instead flipped them to pay the bills :)

Love dragons den Australia

Hate dragons den UK

Nice to chat with a person from "the home country" :) Will be interesting comparing some things and learning how our UK counterparts are going.

Cheers:)

Welcome.

Do you mean Dragons Den Canada?

We had one season in Australia a few years back but that was it. If there is more Aussie dragons den out there I'd love to know where to find it.

Hi Snooks and Johno,

I saw Australian dragons den on you tube. Didn't know there was just one series lol. The UK one has gone down the pan IMO hence the comment.

Hey Caz,,
Hope you can jump the high hurdle to be a au Domainer from the Uk,
All it takes is money and a lawyer. There is one who hangs out here.
Pleased to meet you and now you have met your first wannabe Aussie pretender, moi
Welcome to the space

Welcome Caz.

Funnily enough I was almost the first ever adviser for inventors on Dragon's Den Australia but unfortunately the show was axed before my debut. I was a Commercialisation Manager at the time working with inventors. BTW, I'm selling Commercialisation.com.au if you're interested. ;)
