Well I have, and it's usually a caching problem their end. But the most common problem is teaching them how to fix their browsers to clear that cache. Well I just discovered this great site that's done the leg work for us. Dedicated to showing your users how to clear cache.

i also place 4 full stops at the end of the first paragraph so they can see they have the new version whilst it doesn't upset any current visitors experience.

If I am your client I do not have any time.
    I am too busy.
I want a link to click that clears my cache for me
    Chris:
Do you want or need an online macro recorder that clears cache in the nominated browser?
Do you want to buy or rent this online cache clearing tool?

    Cheers

I don't under stand your question, do you have a tool you can send your clients that does the task for them? Or is it something else?

Tim are you saying that when you make a change you add something a little different so that you have a (tell sign) of which version they are looking at, that doesn't impact the readability of the site?

Don't worry about it though, Christopher. I misread your original post.

Looks very handy for clients @Christopher, thanks for sharing.

Caching is becoming trickier as more services bake it into their offerings, using whatever-file?version=2 is always handy.

Here's a good article on cache busing for developers and WordPress plugin for forcing the latest modified file:
