I just read this article entitled "Why $10,000 For A Domain Name Is Still Cheap".
This is a US publication, and obviously refers to .com domains; but it has some great relevant content for us Aussie domainers.
It also compares different types of advertising or marketing opportunities that business owners have - versus owing a good domain.
It is published on "Business Insider" here: http://www.businessinsider.com/why-10000-for-a-domain-name-is-still-cheap-2011-4
