Read this article and just had to laugh:

http://finance.ninemsn.com.au/newsb...x-practices-suggest-they-dont-get-it-bradbury

"When the leaders of some of the world's largest companies proudly beat their chests about how little tax they pay on the their global profits, it shows they just don't get it."

Obviously as the assistant treasurer he has to be seen to care about the nations best interest, but since when is a businesses responsibility to a country? Their responsibility is too its shareholders.

I remember not long ago there were articles popping up on world news sites including in Australia belittling tradesman in particular who took cash in hand jobs.
Now maybe I am being cynical but the articles were on many news sites so it would appear there was an active campaign to limit such things.

You know your in a corrupt world when a tradesman making 40k a year is a serious issue and a multinational corporation with an effective monopoly on a multi billion dollar industry is left to its own devices.

This is not new, their has been many articles about Googles and other companies tax loopholes over the last 3 years, govt seems to go after the little guy as they know it is easy to get money out of them, big companies will fight it in court.
