Wondering if anyone has much experience in geolocation. A client has a fairly successful ecommerce website based in Australia. He get a lot of visits from the EU but they don't convert very well.
As he has relations and distributors in Europe he has bought the .eu extension of his domain and wants to recreate his website on this domain and redirect all eupoean traffic to this new store.
He is using Magento. I have found the following bits of info on the redirect:
http://www.demacmedia.com/magento-commerce/storewebsite-redirection-based-on-geoip/
http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/georedirect-1.html
His current traffic levels on the .au are in excess of 100k uniques per month. What are some other best practices so we don't hurt the current site?
