Looking at some of the companies that Facebook has/is aligning themselves with it does seem they will gain some traction with Calibra. Perhaps an opportunity to bring Crypto to the ForeFront ?? ...... thoughts?

You wouldn't trust them and nor would I, however, huge numbers of people trust Facebook with their photos, videos and personal information from almost all aspects of life. Money is the next step. If it's easy to use, these same people will use it.

Bring it on! Libra has the potential to drive mainstream cryptocurrency adoption, as a percentage of users will eventually dip their toes into the truly decentralised waters of Bitcoin.

I don’t think they “trust” Facebook. Much like most people wouldn’t buy home insurance from a seven eleven they won’t trust Facebook with money. This is a company widely seen as untrustworthy but that won’t stop people uploading cat videos.

It's definitely a project to watch. A lot of the crypto folks are into the idea of privacy, so Facebook is a strange fit.

With their user base, they are one of the few companies big enough to set the trends.

I reckon they are going to kick ass. They already have the audience and it will most likely grow even more and their advertising revenue will go through the roof. It will be interesting to see how they are going to deal with money laundering though.
