What are the rules regarding unsolicited emails (spam) and this type of thing?

my view has always been and i do think i read the LAW on this a while ago, and that is once you publically place your email address "out there" then its a free for all, if it is a personal email not a database driven email then you should have no issue, every email should have an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom BUT if you are sending it directly to A person then there is no need for that.

a problem would come from sending an email repeatedly without an unsubscribe.

A good take away is:

"Not pricing my domain names in an email opens the door to communications with several parties, and when there are multiple parties interested in buying a domain name, it makes selling for an optimal price easier."
