Domain Sale via Sedo

I sold a domain via Sedo last week

I am impressed with their processes; however it is a bit time consuming

It will end up being 7+ days from agreement to settlement

Hi Acheeva,

Can you share whether it was a com.au? If so, did Sedo do any verification of the buyers eligibility and how was GST dealt with?

I've always steered clear of listing com.au's on Sedo, because of the above concerns, but I am interested in other sellers experiences.

Cheers

Hi Andrew

The deal was silent on GST

However I was requested to submit a valid tax invoice as part of the transfer process which I did do
(I was provided with the buyers details at that time & had to absorb Australian GST because he was an AU resident)

You are correct in that GST was a issue for me

I did not know if I was liable for GST until after the deal had been done

I simply factored it into my price & if it was not payable it would have been a bonus

I did not question the buyers eligibility

What surprises me is the high number of sales leads they generate (albeit at low prices)

Regards

Greg
