Domain Name Article on Forbes

Came across an article on Forbes titled "How (Not) To Name A Company In The Digital Era":

http://www.forbes.com/sites/knowledgewharton/2016/07/14/7142016/

Numbers count. Adding a number to a domain name also helped increase traffic, the paper found. Include a numeral and the website’s rank would rise by 8.19%, based on a study of 1.28 million unique domains that were ranked according to the amount of traffic they attracted.

Not sure about "adding a number helped increase traffic"? Can't think of any examples of this unless I'm missing something?

The link to the paper called "Empirical Evidence for Domain Name Performance" they're referring to is timing out for me, but I've bookmarked it to check out later.

The link is working now, I was wrong -- they did mean numbers are better, in the Concluding Remarks:

FreshFish.com may be better than Fresh-Fish.net. 99Fish.com may be better still.

It's apples and oranges (freshfish vs 99fish), but still not sure about this.

All in all, interesting and still worth reading.
