Hey guys,

Does AUDA's 6 month rule still apply in relation to selling a domain name?

Sorry if this has been answered, I couldn't find anything.

Alright, looks like I'm a little behind the times.

Here's an article I found on NF when the policy was changed:
https://www.netfleet.com.au/blog/domain-sales/6-prohibition-on-change-of-registrant-removed/

And here's the current policy:
https://www.auda.org.au/policies/index-of-published-policies/2011/2011-03/

Please Note: Under the Domain Name Eligibility and Allocation Policy Rules for Open 2LDs, a registrant may not register a domain name for the sole purpose of resale or transfer to another entity. Where a registrant is found to have breached this policy rule, auDA reserves the right to cancel the domain name licence and delete the domain name.

Now excuse me while I disappear for another 10 years.

Hi Luke,

the key part there is "sole purpose" so if you register the domain to monetize it before you sell it, even for a day of parking, it is all good then as it was not just for "sole purpose"

Cheers
