Only for the domains that I run a business on.
For my .com sites, I only get the .com.au if it's appropriate to do so and a lot of the time it's not necessary for a global site. It's also often the case that the term is long gone in most extensions, so unless I'm looking to spend a lot of cash, I'm just happy to have the .com.Does that include .info .biz and .com.au and .net.au?

Use a host near the target audience to reduce user latency is the general rule of thumb. If it's a global site with a .com do you using a hosting service outside of Australia and if so does it make much difference in International traffic?
of course i'm not talking about dubbodentist, but if you do have a good domain with traffic then you have competitors, even though most of us agree .net.au is a waste ...... myself included... i'd still like to protect my "backyard"
pron site was an analogy, it meant if you don't have it someone else can and do what they like.
