You'd like to believe that anyone with half a brain would have watched what happened to Groupon and wouldn't by this company for more than 2 to 3 times earnings... which I suspect would value it at closer to $60m not the outrageous figure of $600m...

Doubt this will happen anytime soon for reasoning in Chris's post. They are a year late, you've got Groupon and the implosion of Facebook which would be very strong currents against it. There is no way this is Australia's largest online retailer either, unless ebay.com.au isn't being included, Apple australia, even the amount Amazon would sell to australian's would be far greater.

Why would ebay be included as a retailer? Also surely by "Australia's biggest online retailer" they are referrring to locally owned businesses.

If there are any web developers here in Melb who have scalability experience with ecommerce, then they are hiring 3x mid level to senior web developers to join the existing team of 15 or so. $70-$90 p/h..

Given the definition only includes locally owned companies should we also conclude that Custom Coaches in Villawood is Australia's largest vehicle manufacturer?

If you pigeon hole enough & try and exclude everyone else from he definition then you can get the result you want, which is probably how catch of the day have come to the conclusion they are "Australia's largest online only retailer", I think they would need a few more stipulations tacked on the end before it would be accurate.
