BlackHat SEO

Hey All,
Came across an interesting write up about unusual traffic from a client of Securi.

What the client thought was a DDOS attack, was infact an increase of fake traffic by Black Hat SEO methods.

"Our client noticed some alarming changes in their Google Analytics reports and thought it was a DDoS attack. The website traffic had dramatically increased. This might sound like a good thing to some, however it was clear that this traffic wasn’t normal at all. Our own statistics from the Website Firewall indicated that traffic had sharply increased, but the additional traffic contained no malicious requests and the geo-location did not seem like a typical DDoS attack."

Anyone here bought some Blackhat traffic and immediately regretted it?

Thanks Christopher, I had a client who had a competitor buy thousands of spammy links to point to his website, it eventually resulted in a Google slap down. It then ended up costing him to have a good credible SEO company fix it

There is an Blackhat SEO in India, if you contact him to remove the links he sends his PBN at you and extorts you for money to stop the attack. You can submit a disavow list to Google to remove the attack.
