Auth Codes

    Has anyone tried to get an Auth code, I'm trying to transfer a domain to a purchaser. The domain is held at Drop their site is still down and Afilias says it may take 2 days for them to get back to me. This looks like a great improvement over Netregistry.

    We’ve gone back to 1999 with all of this!

    Drop.com.au resolves for me so maybe try again? Not surprised about Afilias. They seem to be running on much smaller staff numbers than Ausregistry did.

    Indeed... tried this and still waiting for Afilias a week later. Used to take 2 minutes!
    It seems, if you can't recover via your registrar, tough luck.

    The drop site has been up all day as far as I can tell, but that is not the point, you should be able to recover your password independently of us if necessary.
    I believe that they are working on a solution which is/was due this week so maybe they where referring to needing 48 hours to finish their new password recovery system, which will then be much quicker.

    I submitted a password recovery request with Afilias a few days ago for a .com.au domain, expecting to receive it via email. Nope, two days later I get a phonecall from Afilias instead! Not the most efficient system in the world...

    If anyone from Afilias is watching I still have a teletype machine (working). Will be a lot quicker than ringing people with the codes.

    on thursday at @ 2pm??? i went into my crazyD account and requested the EPP and got it straight away as normal.

    You can get it from the registrar, is is the registry service which is non operational.

    Maybe the registrar only has old codes if the registry isn’t working correctly?
