Australian Link Directories

Directories

I was just wondering what free Australian based link directories (with no reciprocal link required or email subscription) you guys would recommend listing your Australian sites on to help with link building?

Interesting, This would be good and also Australian based social Bookmarking sites too?

I have heaps of listings but their are for US and EU sites...

Indeed. Any Australian links are what I'm after.

Yeah there are unlimited number of international directories, but I'm struggling to find decent Australian based ones.

My logic is that links from Australian sites help with Australian rankings. That said I have no empirical evidence to back this up.

ComeOnAussie.com is a pretty good one, it's for Australian sites only.

Well you said sites that don't have a reciprocal link requirement, not an email list. Use a throw away email or something.

I knew there was a logical reason why I thought this was the case...

Looks like you need a throw away email for each site though...

Nope, you'll receive a link in your email which you can use to add a new site each time. You don't have to mess about with the confirms etc, just put the details in and your done.

Now that's what I'm taking about...

;)

So what other directories are worth the time?

Nice list Soj!

Can I ask, do you even bother with the reciprocal link directories?

I tried submitting a site to a couple of them, most of them have to go through a review process. Do you know if many of them are still active?

And has being listed in these directories helped with improving your SERPs?

Simple answer...No.

If I do link exchanges, I normally link from my other sites, so theres no direct link exchanging. With the directories though, I don't like to waste my time with reciprocal links to directories.

Most have a terrible sameness, indeed some even the exact sameness.

I note with despair webwombat.com.au, once a great directory has fallen into a hole of no-return.
A leading Website valuation service gave it a value > $100k only a few months ago now less than half that.

I think they are doing well. PR7, ~$20k per month revenue just from advertising links. Easy money.

I was wondering does anyone here own or run a link directory or a network of link directories?
