Aussie Blogger sues Twitter

This should be an interesting one!

TWITTER is being sued for defamation for the first time under Australian law.

Joshua Meggitt, the Melbourne man wrongly named by writer and TV identity Marieke Hardy as the author of a hate blog
dedicated to her, is now suing Twitter Inc itself.

He has already got a settlement from Marieke, so he no doubt feels emboldened. I wonder how much it will cost him to get satisfaction?
Or if Twitter will want to sort it out quickly?

What do you think?

Saw this tweet by EddiePerfect today that sums up my thoughts on this:

"Isn't suing twitter for "publishing" defamatory tweets like reading toilet cubicle graffiti and suing the wall?"

@aus11 - I like that. Reading that Age article, Gutnick won his case under Australian law. You'd need deep pockets though.
