Article 13 - Will it Kill the Internet
The un-elected EU Muppet's snuck up to a vote a few days ago on article 13 and article 11.
It is widely believed Article 13 will end Internet freedom as we know it. A total spy grid for tech companies allowed to have unlimited data mining and sharing but the general public isn't allowed to do it.
How can they do that? These EU Muppets will seek to take control of the internet via Article 13 and company’s browser systems will control what you can even type. You can't upload copyrighted music, you can't upload or share images, it’s a total censorship template, they're saying you can't even quote an article which is totally protected in European law and US law, you can’t share memes, it has to go through a program that decides if its hurtful or hateful or copyrighted. In fact, it appears they're more scared of memes because machine learning system that are scanning and reading it can't understand human humour, so it censor’s memes.
Its out of control, and its moving very quickly.
Julia Reda gives a well-informed glimpse of the issues;

Index on Censorship is a good resource to keep up to speed on what’s going on.

freedom on the net is also a good resource for information about censorship.
