ACMA.gov.au DoCA.gov.au to take over .au namespace management from auDA.org.au?

I hope the DoCA is working on something and not just sitting back again for the next 17 years.

There are rumours the contingency plan may be in preparation for the ACMA.gov.au / www.DoCA.gov.au to take over .au namespace management from auDA.org.au. DoCA certainly need some back up ready to go.

This falls within the existing powers of the Commonwealth, has been specifically suggested by the Government themselves as an option and may make some sense.

People need to keep a very close eye on all auDA expenses now and what they may try to do before any transitions.

You can bet they are doing that. With auDA in the state they are in right now another major event could trigger the need for it. I don't think the government is going come in before constitutional reform is attempted but if they had a bunch of resignations or similar resulting in auDA being non functional then they'd need to be ready to go.

The pushing out/resignation of demand directors has not helped the situation either given they are on the edge of not being able to pass anything at board level because of a lack on demand class representation.
