    auDA SGM 27 July 2018

Even if the Demand passes - it doesn't look like theres a chance of the Supply getting the votes required to pass the motion.

auDA already in breach of new minutes policy

You've got to look at point 8 (Which admittedly is silly because they've used white text on white background) but it says 8. minutes will not be generated retroactively, items previously hidden from members shall remain so.

    auDA to Cripple Business

A fantastic win for consumers - assuming its all passed on etc.. etc.. If the new registry can do it cheaper, GREAT! If it costs less for all, GREAT! I am simply unbiased. I am of the assumption that costs disclosed are correct and allow for a business to make profit at the same time. I am...

Errm. I agree? auDA needs change... auDA may very well not want to fill the spot - the constitution will catch up with them there.

    auDA to Cripple Business

While I don't agree with how Lemon got a (short standing) position on the board... the two members that are now on the board are: Nicole "Is on the board and stopped posting to the people that elected her" Murdoch Ned "Been gagged by the board" O'Meara auDA needs change - I can't make that...

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

I have no affiliation with anyone that profits from anything .au Re: pricing - I’m not opposed to lowering it. I’ve said that several times already. I am however realistic in that it takes money to run the infrastructure and regulations for the name space. Yes they’re higher than other places...

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

Some may be that low. .au isn’t. I would wager the costs of running the datacentres here is greatly different to hosting in the US or India etc.. Of those $0.99 are they loss-leaders? How is the registry hosting them sustained? And of course - the security side of things - while .au does have...

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

Not a single cent. I would BARELY fir the demand side let alone supply. I just don’t have the same burning hate for auDA the vocal parts of this forum seem to have.

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

You don’t seem to understand ~$21 mil per year isn’t much when you consider salaries, maintenance, purchasing, research and development etc.. etc.. It’s not like the registry operator can half-ass the security or the operation of said registry. I welcome the change - keen to see how the new...

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

And they should have tendered no doubt - but the biggest arguement seems to be wholesale costs need to be lowered. That’s not always possible - even at volume. Our big banks could lower interest rates but have a business to protect - and the volume there is many times our 3mil+change domain...

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

No problem with that but don’t expect a business to not make money so people can save a buck. The tender “fixes” that but at the end of the day - if there’s no money to be made why would a business take the registry? If we race to the bottom (price) in tenders we would also get that. No...

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

No no. You don’t get the current wholesale. You have to reduce it. You don’t get to make profit or you’ll have to post on this forum that you’re too expensive. Also; if shareholders can’t make money, why can Domainers? Can’t have it both ways there.

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

No, I don’t work there. Not too hard to work out why I have some interest in this (as well as seeing the side of reason) Rising costs is BS? Did you just offer to run the registry with redundancy across the country with the same uptime AusReg achieved? All while lowering your business costs...

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

The transparency isn’t there is my point - no way to validate or invalidate whether there is a reason for having (what people see as) a large amount of money in the bank. I would love to see reasons why but at the same time - there’s got to be some reason or it would just get put into pockets...

auDA and auDA Foundation Fees questioned where are the decreases?

You keep quoting the same thing from 2009. You’re literally whinging about $7 a year. Less than $0.02 per day. While it would be great to have lower costs to register we also need to take into account what it costs IN AUSTRALIA to provide services. The sad truth is; things in Australia cost...
