I wouldn't be surprised at all. The one positive of getting paid working well for you is that you no longer have to worry about algo changes, and you know if you pump a certain amount in you should get a certain amount back. Still, I'd much rather be getting all free organic traffic...!

This morning I'm getting 4 adwords above the organic results, and no adwords down the side. Anyone else seeing this? Could be a good thing if you're into SEM, but not so much for SEO now that the number 1 result is being pushed even further down.

Passion can be replaced with motivation, and plenty of successful businesses have been started on the side. As the post pointed out, development is not for everyone and/or every domain.

Absolutely! Having either knowledge or passion (preferably both) will make development far easier and success more likely. It can be done without, but then you need to replace knowledge or passion with a whole lot of motivation.
