Just to add, the best I have seen so far would be Fancy Gallery from Code Canyon. It has a nice drag & drop interface for images and can handle remote video, but does not work inside the tab. The developer said it doesn't.

That was one that I had checked out. It seems pretty locked into team sports. They do have a "Golf" version, but that is heavily used for golf only. I made the one above work for me, had to tweak the layout with a custom template but I now have a searchable database of player profiles.

I added some to get it started and a few clubs have added their own too. It's a tough start as you need to have content for users to come and you need users to come for anyone to want to list.
