Not sure if there is a recording up but I'd suggest fast forwarding to the 40 minute mark or so (Q&A) which is where the real meeting starts.

The online meeting was stuffed up and we only got notice at about 11.08 for a new link.
What time did it start?
Was there any mention of the old chair resigning?

10:30am it started. The first 40 minutes was a speech by the CEO. Auda claim to have a complete recording. We also have full audio (didn't trust Auda so recorded our own just in case).

Josh Rowe and Jim Stewart also did FB live streams.

I honestly thought Cam was going to talk until the end and have 5 mins for questions.
I had to laugh as he tried to give Ned grief with his faux outrage about not reading their objections to the FOI. Shame Ned shame. Ha ha ha.

Any chance you can add SPEAK to your list of skills? I for one really have no idea on your position any more. Have not heard much out of you in so long regarding what you were so vocal about prior to being elected.

LOL

That is funny and ironic and sarcastic to boot.

I expect Tim will return to normal when a couple more directors get voted off the board.

on your position any more
my position hasn't changed, i want a better auda, and all my decisions are for a better auda and for the australian community, a board decision as stated yesterday is a board decision and only needs a majority like every other board , it will not be dissected into who voted for what, but i do take note scott L's comment yesterday of " how do i know who to vote for when i don't know the directors " , its a question that should be answered.

my decisions like all directors are based on a stack of information, some common knowledge but mostly confidential information and weighed against alternatives.

all you can do is trust the director or vote them out ! so there's is the honest answer.
if you have anything specific to discuss i think i am pretty easy to find and nobody has ever said i don't pick up the phone or call them back

Where is Simon these days as auDA Demand Class Director? He said he has not been muted by auDA so it is by his own choice he has no contact with members and refuses to speak up?

There are a lot of Directors who claim they are the "ONLY" ones standing up at Board Meetings etc. They claim they are the ONLY ones who want all board agenda, meetings and resolutions online again, they claim they are the ONLY ones standing up against the unneeded competing .au extension etc etc.

How can 4 directors claim this yet all we have seen is statements made the decisions are all "unanimous" by the Board.

I think we will now see 3 months of some Directors pleading to be voted in again..and a lot of Bull again.

The way auDA, the auDA Board and the ex auDA Chair handled the 4 resolutions was disgraceful, a massive waste of money and once again full of political spin and untruths.

Bengamin was going to be sacked by the overwhelming numbers from BOTH Supply and Demand.

auDA should have allowed a proper SGM with all 4 resolutions and NO political cover up bullshi$ propaganda for the first 30 minutes.

They just do not get it.Benjamin's auDA and Board approved statement was a joke People do not want them to keep going on the same path. WAKE UP, Resign. Listen and Change or members will continue to speak up and mobilise for the best interests of auDA and the .au namespace.

Where has he been for the last year? Why did he not even do a candidate statement for the last election or state his position on direct registrations.

It is now auDA Board election time again so we see everyone coming out again saying they have been "in the background fighting".

We do not need any more "politicians" on the auDA Board or working at auDA.

Saying and Doing are two very different things.

Simon
1. Did you vote unanimously for the new auDA Code of Conduct as the auDA CEO claimed?
2. Did you vote for the additional competing un needed .au extension as the auDA CEO claimed?
3. Why didn't you do a candidate statement last year?
4. How many of your votes last year came from Supply "demand" class member votes?

Neither Tim or Simon are up for election this year, so I don't think we should be accusing them of posting only for that reason.

I'd suggest it's more to do with the S249D. If that's the outcome from the meeting - that directors feel more comfortable engaging with members online - that has to be a good thing.

Let's take it as a positive step and not be too cynical. :)

It would be great to see more Independent directors also on this forum. That may assist them to realise more of the issues and also help bridge the communications gap.

To improve communications auDA should implement an official auDA forum which includes Q and A and the ability for Directors, members, stakeholders to speak.

Board of directors election

At CIRA, we believe that Canadians have both the right to be informed about how the Internet develops, and a responsibility to act on it. Whether you use the Internet for work or play, you can influence the future development and direction of the Internet in Canada. Participating in CIRA’s governance is one way you can help build a better online Canada.

CIRA is governed by a board of directors comprised of 12 elected directors and three board advisors. Every year, a number of seats on the board become vacant and must be filled.

This year there are four board seats available:
  • 3 from the nomination committee slate
  • 1 from the Member slate
There are also up to six positions available on the nomination committee.
CIRA's election process happens in several stages, beginning with filling seats on the nomination committee in April and ending in an online vote in September.

From candidate applications to the final vote, the entire election process is held online. Find out how to join the nomination committee, join the board or support nominees and candidates.
