Hello,
I'm "JackBeNimble" - a real person with only a single .au domain name.
I am however very invested in the outcome of direct registrations and have been on this site anonymously for quite a while.
That's my mini-intro for now.
Cheers :)

Welcome, Like you I have justified concerns about the proposed direct registrations. I am sure so are people who have invested a great deal on their .com.au.

I add and my apologies for digressing further in detail;

Additionally I am very concerned with the processes auDA and the auDA board have followed.

I am of the opinion very clear conflicts of interest have occurred and some of materials presented by certain parties where false and misleading with no proper disclosure or facts offered.

We are yet to see auDA or the auDA board mention the facts about the very poor registration numbers of the direct .uk and direct .nz. Much of the push for direct registration was claimed to be a high demand of the .uk and .nz. One auDA board member registrar/ reseller and their associated entities went so far as to falsely claim they had been "remarkably successful and as such the additional new direct .au would also be". This is totally false and misleading and formed part of a Yes only vote survey response solicited by that auDA Board member's massive Yes Only email campaign which auDA said largely changed the vote results in favour of "yes".

The auDA board members who have vested interests to sell more domain name extensions have a conflict of interest as do any of their staff members who have financial bonuses on offer from their companies if they got/ get the extra extension in. Lets also remember auDA will itself try to make more money and will their relevant staff get a bonus... who knows?

I have no problem in an open public debate or auDA AGM debate with any auDA board member or auDA staff member on the facts about direct registrations and the processes that have been followed of which I maintain are improper.

The auDA CEO told me in person he was told by Deloitte whom auDA had contracted they said "there is no real valid reason / business case for another .au extension"... so why are they still pushing forward? $$$$$$$$$ MONEY $$$$$$$

That was the most hardcore (jump down his throat) welcome to a new member i've seen. +1 for potentially scaring @JackBeNimble back into anonymity again. I hope he plucks up the courage to resurface. I personally think you should refrain from doing so in the future, as we want to grow this community, and introductions is the first thread the newbies have to post in to qualify to post at all on DNT, when they read something like that I'm sure they will think twice about joining and posting.

Welcome Jack, I hope you resurface and have a thick skin.

Hey Guys,
Don't worry - I'm thick skinned.

There's more to Jack than a single domain which is why I have the interest in .au. I will be open to discuss this more in the new financial year.

Welcome Jack - happy to top you up with some decent .au domains to match that .com trophy shelf. [well that my best guess, lol]
