The ABN Hijacking scamming continues...

Helloworld... we can't just all put our heads in our hands and say there's nothing they can do. Of course there are things they can do. We are discussing options at Domainer.com.au and enough is enough... it's time auDA put simple daily procedures in place to put an end to this craziness!

I'm not putting my head in the sand, I wasn't standing on the beach to begin with.
What do you suggest? On top of the main accredited providers there's hundreds, if not 1000s of resellers. AUDA may well have a bucket load of money but the cost to roll out some kind of check would be prohibitive. The only solution is to open up the domains so that end users become more aware that they may be on a scam website and to do their due diligence as they would with a .com

Maybe ABN's should have emails attached when registered, then if you were to register a domain using an ABN, you'd have to confirm via email?
Can't imagine it'd be too hard to implement? Just an idea....

Helloworld- I said "heads in our hands" for starters... I wasn't trying to allude that you were, in fact, an ostrich.

What do I suggest?

It's easy.

Every day, have someone at auDA spend ten minutes, going through the previous day's registrations, searching by a handful of keywords. The same scammer DNS and scammer email addresses keep coming up. (different_emails@163.com for example...)

Then, send out a POLICY DELETE letter THAT DAY.

14 days later, delete the domain name(s) from the scammers. Because they'll never defend their legitimate right to own the name, because they have no legitimate right.

... and then...

Netfleet can continue to receive their "double dipping" money from the same names being dropped over and over again and the world keeps turning.

I don't know how to tell you this without sounding ... what's the word ... demeaning ... but ...

Opening up the .com.au (or .au) domain name space as a free for all, at this point, to me, personally, would be a silly idea.

Say whatever you like, I honestly do not mind. This is the internet.
But yeah, the closed structure for .com.au is pointless in modern times. It was a nice idea to start with but pointless and caps the market.
