I am talking about dot com names
gd complicate the process of transferring a name TO them
Why would they do that?
Answer: to get you to call their upseller
Why transfer to gd anyway?
Answer: to auction. to market to market
Acknowledgement to spacey Thx Rod

I'm not sure I understand your question here. Also make note that the process of transferring names may be faced with a few teething problems now that icann requires registrars to stricter domain name transfer policy requirements.. not just GD

Thx Photoman
I was venting
GD has always had this ridiculously clumsy method of transferring in... All designed to force a phone call and sell products
3 different codes is not required by any other registrar
The new ICANN rules clarify rather than restrict.
Once again thx for your input

I think godaddy's pricing is more of a concern, i am not too fussed about copy and pasting a few lines of numbers to get a domain transferred. Yes the benefit of names regged at godaddy is the auction aspect. Listed one today for a seven day auction. For me the security is worth the effort of having names regged there. None of my names can be transferred unless I confirm it on the phone. Cheers !

I do no like the discount club, stinks of cash grab however I have just completed my 7 day auction list which means each day of the week I can send a few of my names to a 7 day auction. I would rather list them at godaddy than pay flippa. At they offer the opportunity to be pro-active in that regards
