Just thought I would share this AFR article about auDA doing over 1000 policy deletes
Good to see Erhan. Everyone one who legitimately plays in the .au space will be happy to read this. We're all on the same side.Just thought I would share this AFR article about auDA doing over 1000 policy deletes
However, this is the quote I found interesting (bolding and underlining is mine):
"The move represents the largest ever move against dodgy websites in Australia, and comes after the suspect activity was first picked up two weeks ago by domain name administration body auDA."
FFS. I first reported this happening back in May. I have emailed auDA on numerous occasions with "chapter and verse" (plus written about it on Domainer), but bureaucracy seemed to get in the way of getting things done.
Thanks Scott. I only reported the tip of the iceberg - I certainly wasn't aware that there would have been 1000 dodgy sites! However, if my alerts had been dealt with properly, who knows how much earlier this would have been dealt with?As soon as I read the AFR article, I thought, "Ned wrote about this ages ago." Imagine the number of people who would have been spared having their credit card details stolen and all the hassles that go along with it, if the auDA had acted when you reported it.
Hi Robert, please send me your complaint and I will raise with the CEO.Thanks for sharing Erhan, I had no idea the scammers were doing it on this level?!
As for auDA finally acting, Neddy has been writing about this for nearly six months.
I too made a formal complaint to auDA a few weeks back which was fruitless and nothing is currently being done about it.
I have written a detailed article about this and you never know, it may appear on Domainer early next week...
Not only did they not accept your complaint, they REFUSED it. And the scammer site is still up and running today (no doubt harvesting credit card details). It's crazy auDA doesn't accept our red-handed scammer complaints.
