The chances of selling a domain with a renewal of $1,300 must be very slim indeed

Must be some buyers regret involved for sure

The renewal shows as around $30 on Godaddy. I suspect the renewal he is paying is $1.30 given it looks like a Chinese registrar.

It looks like I am NOW the DNTRADE guru on new gTLDS
.PUB non premiums are around $30 to register and renew unless a particular registrar has a special agreement with the registry to discount or is prepared to discount in order to sell other services like hosting, private Whois etc
.pub premium domains such as single letter .pub names were registered at a premium or even at auction in the sunrise phase.
I presume all 26 were sold although I have not checked.
If they were not sold in the sunrise phase they would have been at least $usd1300 to register with a renewal of $1300 each year.
It does not matter what registrar.
It is the registry, or more correctly the owner of the .pub space that will decide the price of premiums.
The various registrars that have an agreement with the registry can then price gouge as much as they like.
The Namepros ad states 1.3$ for renewal
This means in $usd1300 in Pinyin
And on the other question about Namepros , you can bump your own post every 24 hours for no reason at all

Cheers Joe,

I wonder if he is going to drop it or rack up a bigger loss on that one.

The renewal for 10 years indicates that I got it completely wrong.
Please disregard my incorrect presumptions
