what the...how does a .com.au go from EXPIRED status to OK and with new ABN, etc.?
Can they change ownership while it is expired?
I was waiting the pending delete status...

You get 25 - 30 days to renew after a domain expired.
May be he did the renewal then did a change of ownership

Thanks...so it's like a REDEMPTION with the .com, I did not know about the.com.au because I never got too much involved with the local extension.

lorenzo, for any of your .com.au's never trust the 25-30 day rule, i've found it is unreliable. i've let domains purposely drop and have been AMAZED at how quickly they end up listed on drops.
yes, you have a redemption period but i'd never let anything go more then 7 days, then once its registered you can do what you want once again.
COR can happen quite quickly in .com.au if all parties play a quick role in reply , so it may look almost instantaneous to the outsider. I've been able to achieve it within 1 hour.
you just need all your pieces lined up and its bang bang bang bang DONE.
the fastest way is to change the email notification address to yours, this way all correspondence comes to you, you just say YES to everything and at the end change it to the new owners address and hand it over + get them to check the whois..... done

PD stands for policy deletion. If someone complains about your ownership legitimacy and it's found you don't have the right to own it, it gets PD'd. It can also happen if you request the domain be dropped for whatever reason (for example it's a .net.au).

question is, who told them ? when you think about it, why would you ignore the renewal ?
