Anything that brings down a monolopy has got to be good.

We all have to remember that all our clients want, and all we want is more qualified traffic.

Being domainer's our primary focus has got to be direct traffic, or type in.

I'm sick to death of clients wanting to spend $1000 a month on Adwords for 400 click throughs. If they had the patience they could develop good long term sustainable strategy's.

I genuinely feel for company's like Fabulous whose whole revenue model was totally based on Google income. Thank goodness they have started to diversify with there Domain Sales Model. It's a pity that they haven't realised and utilized what a goldmine they are sitting on.

But that is for them to work out.

Doesn't make that much difference to us in Australia does it though? Advertising on Microsoft (Live, bing) was always done through Yahoo Search Marketing anyway.

And Yahoo has a tiny search share here in Aus. I thought it was Google 88%, Bing 11%, Yahoo 1% or thereabouts.

Anyway if the global deal can help shake Google's monopoly then as loho27 said - that's a good thing!

Sure. I was thinking from the POV that the new partnership might actually get somewhere.

At the moment I pay little to no attention to Yahoo or Bing.

Personally I still don't think that this will make much of a difference. Google has a stranglehold on internet search for one reason. It does it so well. People use it not because its the only search engine out there, it's because they find what they want, faster, and easier than Microsoft or Yahoo.

I was watching BBC when i heard the news, and one of the features that they were showing praise to on Bing was when you do a video search and hover the mouse over the thumbnail, it shows a preview video before you click on it. They were talking as if Microsoft were the first people to use this technique, I've seen it on many other websites.
