Default Sleep Apnea

So SleepApnea.com.au only went for $2400. I really thought it had more in it than that. I was expecting something closer to the $5000 mark.

What is everyone's take on it?

Was anyone here bidding on it?

Long term I like it.. aging population, people are getting fatter and I know from my time working at HBA that cpap/bipap machines are in demand for this sort of thing.

Good price for a good domain imo.

To be honest, I don't even know what Sleep Apnea is haha, definitely wasn't me bidding on it. Spent too much money this morning on another MMORPG to be bidding on Drop domains haha.

It seems expensive for something that few people of heard of, but I think it will be good value in the long term as sleep apnea's awareness is raised.

And it's not just older and/or overweight people who suffer from sleep apnea. I'm only 31 and consider myself pretty fit, yet I was diagnosed with sleep apnea last year. It's only a mild case, the only side effect being that after I few drinks I wake up with a cranky girlfriend thanks to my snoring!

Think this type of domain is worth it for sure, I know their is big money in it and a end user must have been in the mix. Personally I would not buy it because I can not have that same passion writing content for this site. I only buy domains I know the industry and i actually like the content.

I dunno, I think a developer was to snap something like this up they could whip it into the sort of site that could be very valuable end user.

I'm actually quite a believer of developers often being better off buying and developing domains than businesses because so often businesses don't know how to maximise the return they get from their domains once they own them.

This was a great name. The price was a bit high in my view.

I was thinking about it, but picked up some related names the day before (which are now being built out).

Great pick up in my opinion.

Sleep apnea is a multi billion dollar business - just ask Aussie success story ResMed.

I think the price was very good considering the hot prices some domains have been going for lately. And if it's resold at a later date, then there could be some very willing takers in the industry. From what I understand those sleep devices cost a fortune!

Hey Soj,
Just got spammed with this -http://www.gamecrush.com/

Something like that could be a good earner with a massive database of gaming nerds

Seems a good name in term of popularity and bid prices, but to properly monetize this would take major dollars, ie running clinics in major cities around the country. For a domainer/webmaster or even a local sleep apnea clinic the potential is limited.
