interesting sale...But shows the market for adult domains is not in a real growth mode as it sold like 4 years ago for 12-14 million est.

I doubt I'll be changing from youporn or redtube any time soon

How do build a website based around this domain though? The best porn sites are niche specific these days. It will be very interesting to see what the new owners do with it.

I hear you on redtube, but let's not forget pornhub. I'd really like to know who actually pays for porn.

That industry has had a huge downturn, so I think to get a similar price, that is a very good result for Sedo.

Default Jeff Gabriel will be relieved

It takes about $30,000 a day so that's not a bad result GFC also he'd be on 10% plus for the sale personally for the comm. I imagine its a happy day in the Sedo Boston office at this time.

If you've got $13m to pay for the domain, surely they can develop something half decent with the change.

It's sex.com for Christ's sake - they should cover every single base and make it the biggest freaking sex site on the planet covering every niche (hundreds), every platform including tube, free pr0n, educational, premium, hd, mobile, hook-ups, dvd's, 3D, last longer, extensions, products, cam.

Snoopdog, I don't agree that the 'year' or any 'market trends' really apply to that name - unless you're talking from a purely 'domaining' sense?

Internet usage continues to grow, and every year there's a new group of pubescent fiddlers coming online. While type-ins may not be what they were back in the boom days, I can't understand how anyone wouldn't get quick ROI with sex.com. The opportunities are definitely there to make the biggest spank bank of all time, without even considering the opportunities with social media.
