Question Please vote on this simple SEO related poll about Google.com.au

Hi,

as I'm getting more into our beloved .au namespace, I have the dilemma to understand better how Australians use Google.

While some may use Google.com, normally most people use google.com.au but the key question, so important for all of us, is:

do Australians filter the results by clicking "pages from Australia" or not?

do you?

Please vote and/or let us know what your friends/relatives/business colleagues do when using Google.

Thanks everyone!

I rarely use the filter, only if the initial search results show too many international sites.

even if that was the case, I tend to use site:.au (same thing perhaps?)

The average searcher isn't even aware of the site: command or other ones. I'd say the same is true for the pages from Australia filter unless they're looking for something really specific and then accidentally happen across it while reviewing their search.

I voted for
"It depends from what I'm searching"

Reminds me of asking directions once and the local replied
" That would depend where you were starting from "

I actually use a search engine toolbar on firefox and my default is Google Australia From Australia

It depends from what I'm searching was my choice.

If I'm searching for topics that are not location dependant such as technical questions, I tend to use google.com without any filtering. However If I need local info then I still use google.com but filters the result by country.

Somehow I don't use google.com.au that much.

Thanks to all 18 voters! Hopefully some more members make a choice before the poll closes.

I'll vote at the end.

Cheers

Google.com.au unfiltered for me - And continually wipe my serp results so I get a good indication of what other surfers are seeing.
