yes
yes
yes
no unlock needed. native phone browser will do the job.
you just need to sing up a data pack (x GB / month for $xx) from your operator.

Most phone plans come with data these days, i've gone back to prepaid and even that gives me 500mb a month data + like $300 in phone calls/messages + optus to optus minutes for $50.

I've used 200mb data in the last 2 months and I'm constantly on facebook and this forum on my phone.

paz is right - many voice plans already allow you to use data (a.k.a casual data), you are just charged at a relatively higher rate. but if you sign up a data plan e.g. x-series from 3 (on top of your voice plan), you get much better rate (dollar per MB).

Ok guys , thanks for your answers , but i will expand the question a bit more

So whats the the big deal about unlocked iphones , does it mean you can run certain applications that you normally could not ?

Also i have a few 'adult' names that include the word 'phone' and there are some affiliate programs that are in the mobile html language , although i am wondering if a normal adult affiliate site would also work , even if not in the ,mobi html ??? , example cams

thanks for your help so far

unlocked refers to a phone that can be used on any network (telstra as well as vodaphone and all others)

if your phone is locked to a provider it can only be used on that one provider.
eg: phone locked to vodaphone will not accept a optus sim card.

I think spacey means when you jailbreak and iphone - yes you can use apps not available in the iTunes store etc, but it voids your warranty.

it will be able to access any site except for maybe flash sites but it gets really annoying on a tiny screen, lots of scrolling etc.

sites like m.facebook.com are great though

I'm not sure if any mobile sites are actually coded in DIFFERENT html as much as just made smaller and simpler to fit tiny screens. Show me an example of this code and I'll let you know.
