Question over 28,000 names

I just had a look at netfleet and noticed they have over 28,000 names listed for sale (well done) i remember when they had just over 10,000

The question is , with people needing a abn to buy a .com.au , is there enough buyers in the australian market ?

Is our population big enough to support a domain aftermarket ?

.....once all the geos are gone

I think there's a glitch somewhere on the site. (April Fools?)

Just did a rough sum of the domains in each category and its around 15K domains...which is what it was last time I checked, and that would have been a week ago or so.

Hi Rhythm,

No april fools (good idea though!), just uncategorised domain names which we are working through to categorise. Its a very, very boring job though

Until categorised, all domain names will still show up in searches:

...(the 'uncategorised' reason also crossed my mind, but it sounded too good to be true if you know what I mean, April Fools etc)....

In which case, congratulations!

Virtually every industry has enough players to support some sort of trading whether it's car rego plates or antique maps! Just look at Ebay & browse through the categories to see what people are regularly buying and selling.

The question perhaps is whether the aftermarket will be big enough to support people making a full-time living by just trading and/or related services.

My answer is an emphatic yes. It might not be big enough to support 100's or 1,000's of people but a few dozen people working full time plus a heap more part time - why not!

We really need that mainstream push to really make things interesting (think 'virtual real estate' story on Today Tonight, followed up by newspaper & news coverage etc)

Fin Review showed some interest when the market first opened up... unfortunately they put a fairly negative spin on the whole thing (type squatting, lack of sales etc)

Maybe domainers should do a joint venture with bikie gangs. I hear they're all the rage these days.
