Default Off line sales

Hey everyone.
I am just curious if anyone uses non online methods to advertise domain names for sale?

I have some local names I am going to give it a go with in a couple of months related to tourism and wine in my area - thought it worth a few bucks in a classified ad in our local papers to see if there was any interest locally.

I have thought this might work well for developed sites too. I know domaining isn't huge in Australia, but just about everyone knows what a website is and that they can be used to make money.

Anyway it got me thinking, the only place I have ever seen domains advertised is online - does anyone use any other forms of promotion?

If you do - would you mind sharing your experiences?
If not - is there a reason why you don't?

I think that's a great idea.

Generally the ones who search the aftermarkets are domainers or the like.

End users wouldn't think of that, maybe an ad in the local or state rag could put it in front of more end users.

Well worth the cost of a classified ad i'm sure.

I have tried to sell domain names in the classified ads of country and local newspapers without success
The last time I tried Leader newspapers, I was shocked to find my advert appeared on the same page as the brothel ads
I got no calls, thankfully
I have never tried the daily papers
I have tried to sell domain names online with adsense and facebook with only moderate success
The only paid advertising that has worked well for me is netfleet.com.au upgrades
A friend once told me that I should advertise in Computer magazines because they target people who might actually pay for a domain
I found the rates very expensive and did not go ahead

I think the best magazine to put your domains in front of would be NETT, but haven't given the offline method of selling a go.
