I got a question regarding domain status on domain8.

That domain name xxxxx.com.au had been caught by domain8 few months ago (over 2 months I think), I checked its whois several times, but the status always shows "inactive". Anyone knows what's that mean? Will it be released to the market again? Or if I want to buy this domain, do I need to contact domain8 (the registrant is another guy)? Thanks.
