Not sure if this came up else where already:

Quote:
Kim Dotcom actually owns kim.com

One nugget which hasn’t yet been noted: the German-born hacker does actually own the domain name kim.com.

According to Whois records, the snappy web address was acquired in 2007 from its previous owner, an American named James Kim. The latest records are in the name of Kim Vestor, one of the Megaupload creator’s three recorded names.

Born as Kim Schmitz, he legally changed his name to match his URL – or perhaps vice versa – sometime before 2010, when he was granted a Finnish passport in the name of Kim Dotcom.

Well he got bail yesterday! Much to the chagrin of the FBI.

But he's not allowed to fly in his helicopter; or access the internet. So he won't be getting his No 1 position back on COD anytime soon.

James Bond - Jonathan Bahr

I see he has to wear an electronic bracelet as part of his bail conditions.

The US Government will probably have a satellite hovering over his house watching every move.

"Defence lawyers for Kim Dotcom say he does not pose a flight risk. One of their arguments, at 6"7" and weighing over 280 pounds how could Dotcom possibly flee undetected." NBC

LMAO.

Funniest shit I have heard this week.

MEGAUPLOAD founder Kim Dotcom and his wife need more than $200,000 a month to get by, a New Zealand court has heard.

And whilst he was released on bail recently, the Crown appealed against this (on behalf of the US Government). A decision was handed
down today by the NZ High Court, and they have agreed he can remain on bail.

Internet tycoon Kim Dotcom's cash, cars and property were seized using a court order which should never have been granted.

A judgment from Justice Judith Potter on Friday declared the restraining order "null and void" and having "no legal effect".
Not to condone what he is accused of but I'm always happy to see someone sticking it to the American government.

I love it when the "little bloke" has a win - not that Dotcom is "little" in any manner, shape or form.

You'd think with all the money the US Government threw at this (via their friendly allies NZ), that their legal representatives and the coppers would get it right first time.

Can you imagine what would happen to someone who didn't have resources to employ a high powered legal team? They'd be languishing in the slammer - or already back in the USA.
