Default Domain Name Generator

Mark's just put together a domain name generator which could be useful for you guys.

http://www.netfleet.com.au/index.php?a=domainsuggest

Sort of a mod to the Adwords tool but it should be a pretty cool tool to get some ideas.

As always any bugs/suggestions gratefully received!

Nice.

Are there any plans to also generate/suggest .net.au domains that may happen to be for sale on netfleet? or will there only be .com.au domains generated/suggested?

Thanks guys - both very good points!

We did try to make it Aussie but you're right I don't think it stuck. And terribly neglectful not to include net.au you're quite right.

i think it's a pretty good tool.

Any chance of adding another column to show if the domain name is not registered?

That way i could just use this tool to hunt for new registrations (rather than using the google suggestion tool, then adding the .com.au and checking for domain availability).

changing as we speak..

Ross, we don't want to overload the server. If we linked an availability chacker straight to it we might struggle. But for members it's a simple case of copying to Excel then pasting into the availability checker

Have updated tool to show all extensions if for sale on Netfleet. Only exception is if multiple extensions listed, then only .com.au will show (eg both .net.au and com.au on Netfleet). Sorry, but the way its coded it would make it difficult to have both squeezed in!

Also, changed search volumes to include Australia, and Global, although Google havent quite got their APIs sorted on the local one - so take with a pinch or two of salt! Its pretty helpful though. Also, its only the last months data too for Australia, as oppsoed to 12 month average for Global.

Ross - I know what you mean that would be good. As David mentioned it might be a bit much for the one operation. Saying that, might be able to tie in to the Domain Availability Tool in the Members Area - I'll check it out and get back to you...

Hope this helps! Keep ideas and suggestions coming!

You're a very talented man Mark! Well done. Another good addition to NetFleet's range of services.

Ned, you're too kind! But I'm glad you like it!

And to follow up, I had a look in to bundling in to domain availability checker, and I'll have to side line that one. So, as David mentioned, for time being just have to copy and paste in to the checker...

Also, we're looking to create a suite of tools that domainers can use, and I'm interested in everyones thoughts, so the question is:

If you could have any script/tool at your disposal, what would you like it to do?

Hi Mark,

Just wondering if it was possible to create a feature on NetFleet - "Domains I am watching"? A bit like the handy eBay feature.

I know there are domains that I'm interested in, but I don't necessarily want to place a bid on them right now. But I might in the future - particularly if I see that others are suddenly bidding on them! And to take this a step further, it would be good for your system to automatically generate an email every time there is a bid on a domain that is being watched. (Currently we get emails if we have been outbid etc, so this shouldn't be too hard to do?).

At the moment, I have to keep a list and manually enter every domain I've been looking at. It's very time consuming, and sometimes one forgets!

I think this would be a great tool for NetFleet to have - and a definite win / win all round.

Cheers, Ned
