It was a westernized version of Tuangou, but they didn't copy or clone any specific chinese site. Most Tuangou were for tangible goods.

Groupon Snags Last-Minute Super Bowl Ad Time $3 million
http://adage.com/superbowl/article?article_id=148624 LivingSocial Counters Groupon With Pre-Super Bowl Ad Buy http://mashable.com/2011/02/03/livin...le+(Mashable)# //The entry of Groupon into the Super Bowl and LivingSocial before the game also displays a coming of age for social media firms, but offers a stark contrast to the 1999 and 2000 Super Bowls, which were full of then-hot dot-com companies like Pets.com and Epidemic.com that went belly-up not long afterwards. This time around, soon-to-IPO companies like Facebook and LinkedIn are sitting the game out.// Last edited by Max; 04-02-11 at 05:58 PM.. |
