Interesting one, not sure if it is the type of name that would have a fair degree of enduser interest or if it is more of a trophy name.

I think the development potential would be limited - too generic.

I tend to agree, although I can think of a couple of (basic) things it could be used for like city accommodation or city sight seeing.

im slightly confused, i have just received a call from a client that tried to place an order for city.com.au and tropicalfish.com.au on Domain Snapper Backorder on the 6th of january and the system told him that he was not able to place an order for city.com.au and tropicalfish.com.au because there were backorders already.

Tropicalfish.com.au was in fact picked up via the backorder on the 10th jan, however i see city.com.au is listed today for tomorrows auction without a backorder, my question is how can this happen?

was the backorder blocked because it was a great name and would generate more revenue for netfleet via the auction or is there another reason?

"Please be aware, our Domain Snapper Backorder service is undergoing maintenance. Please check back at another time... "

would be interested in knowing when this will be fixed cause I have a domain I would like to backorder....

i have just been informed that the snapper backorder service will be limited to 1 backorder per month per client, i find this rather restrictive, and makes the service useless for anyone wanting to backorder more than one domain name

i have also been informed that netfleet reserves the right to remove names at their discretion from the backordering service in order to have it listed at auction

Hi Guys

If a domain is due to expire in 48 hours, it is excluded from backordering. This has always been the case. We do that, as otherwise everyone will look at the official drop list, and backorder the best ones, and no solid domains will get to auction.

In any case, our backorder service was never really intended to be for domainers - it was more geared towards retail clients. As such, we are currently changing the rules around the backorder service, and it is undergonig maintenance until finalised...I expect will do complete tomorrow/Friday at the latest.

Keeping on topic - city.com.au is a great domain if you ask me

Thanks, Mark

as i said earlier, my client tried to backorder the name on the 6th January, thats more than 48 hours, actually 13 days prior to be exact, so im curious as to what actually happened in this case, can you please shed some light on the issue
