Had your name all over it!

Good luck!

Of note when I log in to Adwords Keyword Tool I get the following "exact" local search volumes:

Brakes - 480
Disc Brakes - 260

I hardly ever look at the exact searches, you will not be making many if any sales for people searching for brakes. Though if someone is searching for Honda Accord Euro Brakes, you will have a much higher chance of converting. So I always look at the phrase searches, so how many times the word "brakes" is used in searches, which includes "disc brakes", "bendix brakes", "honda accord euro brakes" and so on. It is much more effective, and as such, has 200,000 monthly local searches.

Very solid name, could be the basis of a good business. One thing I wonder is what % are looking for servicing etc as opposed to buying parts (I don't think a smaller operation,ie not nation wide, would ever be able to effectively monetize servicing traffic). The search stats look like it is a term about parts but the advertisers on google are all service co's.

I get 14,800 on google (exact).

surely a great example of a generic domain name that would kick arse once part of a nationwide franchise ....just type in brakes.com.au

I agree with SOJ on the "phrase" searches as a guide versus [exact] for most situations
