Default BoatLicence.com.au

I was surprised to see this get up to $1500.00 considering that's US English.

Are US spellings likely to be pinged for misspellings in ccTLD?

I've seen a few domains like this and wondered whether its worthwhile picking them up. Assuming 80% of Australians can't spell, maybe it is worthwhile haha?

I'm 99% positive that you have it the wrong way around.

Licence = UK
License = US

License is the verb
Licence is a noun
